India ratings: Sony TV claims No.1 in Urban market


Sony Entertainment Television surged in latest India ratings, according to official BARC India data for Week 40 of 2017.

The channel, which has been riding high on the success of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ and the recently launched ‘Super Dancer’, clocked up 443.498 million (last week 360.545 million) Impressions in Urban data. Colors remained at No.2 with 434.409 million (last week 368.820 million) Impressions, followed by ZEE TV with 367.169 million (last week 367.046 million) Impressions and Star Plus tumbled down to No.4 with 345.802 million (last week 384.979 million) Impressions. Star Bharat was in fifth with 284.679 million (last week 252.423 million) Impressions.

‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ was top show in Urban market with 8.719 million (last week 6.676 million) Impressions, followed by ‘Kundali Bhagya’ on ZEE TV with 6.581 million (last week 6.262 million) Impressions and ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ on Colors with 6.358 million (last week 5.682 million) Impressions.

In the Rural region, ZEE Anmol topped ratings with 618.792 million (last week 517.785 million) Impressions, followed by Sony Pal with 381.567 million (last week 362.521 million) Impressions and Star Bharat climbed with 339.403 million (last week 308.592 million) Impressions. In fourth was Rishtey with 275.668 million (last week 320.714 million) Impressions and Star Utsav with 263.901 million (last week 238.758 million) Impressions.

‘Kaala Teeka’ on ZEE Anmol was top with 7.439 million Impressions (last week 5.004 million), followed by India and Australia cricket on DD National with 6.478 million Impressions and ‘Jamai Raja’ on ZEE Anmol with 5.935 million (last week 4.967 million) Impressions.

In combined Urban and Rural data, ZEE Anmol delivered 786.847 million (last week 661.111 million) Impressions, followed by Colors with 626.274 million (last week 552.131 million) Impressions and Star Bharat in third with 624.082 million (last week 561.015 million) Impressions.

‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ on Sony TV was the biggest show in combined data with 11.533 million (last week 8.736 million) Impressions, followed by ‘Kundali Bhagya’ on ZEE TV with 11.216 million (last week 10.866 million) Impressions and ‘Kaala Teeka’ on ZEE Anmol with 10.028 million Impressions.
