India ratings: Sony TV bounces back up

Sony Entertainment Television Asia was back up the ratings chart in latest data TAM has issued, however Star Plus remained the undisputed leader.

According to official data from TAM for week 38, Star Plus managed to garner Gross TVT of 535 million and relative share of 22.42% (last week 477 million TVTs with 20.78% relative share). It added 58 million TVTs. ‘Mahabharat’, pulled in 8,445 TVTs for the opening episode to become the highest rated weekday fiction show in the last three years on Indian television.

In second place was Colors with Gross TVT of 480 million and relative share of 20.13% (last week 464 million TVTs with 20.20% relative share). It was up by 16 million TVTs. ‘Bigg Boss 7’ opened at 7,711 TVTs on Sunday premiere night and averaged 5,080 TVTs from Monday to Saturday.

In third was ZEE TV with 414 million of Gross TVT with 17.35% of relative share. The channel had 399 million TVTs with relative share of 17.38% last week.

Sony TV was in fourth, mainly helped by the Delhi gang rape episode of ‘Crime Patrol’. It added 34 million TVTs, the channel recorded Gross TVT of 327 million with 13.72% relative share (last week 293 million TVTs with 12.76% of relative share).

In fifth was Star Life Ok with Gross TVT of 313 million against last week�۪s 322 million. The channel�۪s relative share was 3.13% in Week 38 against 14.04% in Week 37.

Sony SAB TV was next with Gross TVT of 289 million with 12.14% relative share (last week 312 million TVTs and 13.59% relative share).

Sahara One was at the bottom with 26 million TVT with 1.11% relative share (last week 29 million TVTs and 1.25% relative share).
