India ratings: ‘Shakti’ propels Colors

‘Shakti’ on Colors

The controversial transgender storyline in ‘Shakti’ has given Colors a push in latest India ratings, according to official data from BARC for Week 31 of 2016.

However, the show was not enough to dislodge Star Plus from the top of the chart. In the Urban market, Star Plus ruled with 453.650 million Impressions (last week 468.778 million Impressions), followed by a distant Colors at No.2 with 375.898 million Impressions (last week 372.710 million Impressions) and ZEE TV in third with 334.426 million Impressions (last week 337.113 million Impressions). In fourth was Life Ok with 274.650 million Impressions (last week 280.748 million Impressions) and Sony Entertainment Television Asia with 254.610 million Impressions (last week 276.553 million Impressions).

The next batch consisted of SAB TV with 251.009 million Impressions, followed by &TV with 152.933 million Impressions, Star Utsav with 121.635 million Impressions, ZEE Anmol with 119.457 million Impressions and Sony Pal with 92.700 million Impressions.

The top rated show in the Urban market remained ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ on ZEE TV with 8.581 million Impressions (last week 7.719 million Impressions), followed by ‘Shakti’ on Colors with 5.899 million Impressions and ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ on Star Plus with 5.655 million Impressions.

In the Rural market, Star Utsav held on to the lead with 406.447 million Impressions (last week 376.906 million Impressions), followed by ZEE Anmol with 386.582 million Impressions (last week 362.250 million Impressions) and Sony Pal in third with 292.452 million Impressions (last week 309.097 million Impressions). ZEE TV was in fourth with 266.608 million Impressions and Star Plus at No.5 with 205.941 million Impressions.

The top rated show in the Rural market was ‘Jodha Akbar’ on ZEE Anmol with 6.536 million Impressions (last week 6.414 million Impressions), followed by ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ on ZEE TV with 6.387 million Impressions and ‘Bandini’ on ZEE Anmol with 6.036 million Impressions.
