India Ratings: Republic TV & Republic Bharat take No.1 spot in news genre
Republic TV and its Hindi equivalent sister channel, Republic Bharat emerged as the No.1 news broadcasters in latest India ratings for the Urban region, according to Week 32 of 2020 BARC India data.
In a huge first for the popular news broadcaster, both channels from the Republic Media Network dominated the news space. Owing it to the successful coverage of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death investigation, Republic TV fetched 6284 Impressions, while Aaj Tak was placed at No.2 with 2317 Impressions and CNN News18 at No.3 with 1798 Impressions.
In the Hindi news genre, Republic Bharat made history by stomping out its rivals. The channel jumped to No.1 for the first time in the Urban region with 120479 Impressions, followed by Aaj Tak with 119692 Impressions and India TV with 103347 Impressions.
Similarly, in the UK, Republic Bharat sits at No.1 in latest weekly reach figures (week ending Sunday 9th August 2020.), provided by BARB UK. The channel has annihilated all South Asian news channels with a reach of 338,000 viewers, followed by Aaj Tak at No.2 with 297,000 viewers and Urdu news channel New Vision TV slid to No.3 with 294,000.

Apart from its rise to the No. 1 position in Hindi TV news in India, Republic Bharat has also been rated the most-watched South Asian news channel in the United Kingdom, thereby consolidating its leadership position amidst the diaspora audience.”
