India ratings: ‘Ready’ premiere pushes Colors


The World TV Premiere of ‘Ready’ starring Salman Khan and Asin has propelled Colors to a joint second position with Sony Entertainment Television Asia, according to official figures.

TAM data for Week 44 of 2011 saw Colors take a slight lead by 0.6 GRPs on Sony TV. The channel recorded 236.5 GRPs this week (last week 208), whereas Sony TV was just behind with 235.9 GRPs (last week 258).

Despite the huge marketing campaign surrounding ‘Ready’ and Colors showing the movie twice in one day, it could manage to garner 2.4 and 3.1 at 13:00 and 20:00 respectively for the channel.

Star Plus continued to cling on to the numero uno position. It however, saw a huge loss of 44 GRPs to record 273 GRPs (last week 317).

ZEE TV was in fourth with 131 GRPs this week (last week 155).

SAB TV delivered 118 GRPs (last week 121).

Imagine TV registered 61 GRPs this week (last week 69).

In terms of shows, Sony TV had three shows in the Top 5 most watched programmes on Hindi entertainment channels in India. ‘Saathiya’ was on top with 4.5 TVR, ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ was next with 3.5, ‘CID’ was in third with 3.5 TVR, ‘Balika Vadhu’ in fourth with 3.4 TVR and ‘Bade Achche Lagte Hain’ was in fifth with a respectable 3.2 TVR.
