India ratings: Pro Wrestling League opens up well

The first ever Pro Wrestling League – Khel Fauladi has opened up to big ratings for the Sony Pictures Networks.

Day 1 of Pro Wrestling League (PWL) enjoyed a remarkable viewership of 47.56 million viewers across three channels Sony Max, Sony Pal & Sony SIX put together (CS 4+ All India) for the timeslot 19:00 – 21:00.

Sony’s comprehensive long coverage of the Pro Wrestling League (PWL) across its channels leads the TVR ratings in the opening season. As per BARC, Sony overall saw a jump of 285% in its viewership for the 19:00 – 21:00 slot across all areas and 300% jump across HSM areas. The key markets for the same have been Mumbai, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. The league has registered close to 46% of its ratings from Sony Pal (FTA / DD Free Dish Channel) with viewership of over 40% from female audiences.

The ratings clearly indicate that the opening season of PWLoutshines all other non-cricketing leagues. PWL has garnered an event average of 0.79 TVRacross CS 4+yr All India and an event average of 1.01 TVR across CS 4+yr HSM.

Premiered on 10th December, PWL is an initiative of ProSportify and Wrestling Federation of India. The programming features live matches on all the channels. Sony has rolled out a wide-range of innovations in its coverage of the league, making it a more enjoyable experience for the viewers.

In the inaugural year, the prestigious competition with 18 matches is being showcased live across three Sony channels for promotional support from the entire Sony Network.
