India ratings: NDTV Imagine surges ahead
Rakhi Ka Swayamvar’ has managed to increase the popularity of NDTV Imagine, as well as surge ahead of tier 2 of the entertainment channels.
According to TAM viewership data for Week 27, the new reality show in, which actress Rakhi Sawant is on the lookout for a husband, has given the channel its biggest ever ratings since its launch over a year ago. The programme opened up with a TVR of 4.1, making it one of the biggest openers in the reality TV genre. According to the channel, its ratings surpassed the first episodes of ‘Fear Factor’, ‘Indian Idol’, ��Sa Re Ga Ma Pa�۪ and ��Dus Ka Dum�۪.
As a whole, NDTV Imagine sits at number four amongst the Hindi entertainment channels with 133 GRPs, an increase from last week�۪s 108 GRPs. Sony Entertainment Television Asia has also marginally increased its weekly GRP to 108. SAB TV sits in sixth place with 67 GRPs, STAR One in seventh with 59, Sahara One remains unchanged with 29 GRPs, 9X in ninth with 20 GRPs and Real struggles with 11 GRPs.
The fight between the top three channels continues with Colors regaining the numero uno position this week with an increase of 57 GRPs from last week. It stands at the top with 300 GRPs, with a helping hand from new reality show ‘India�۪s Got Talent’. ZEE TV is in second with 253 GRPs, while STAR Plus has settled for number three for the second consecutive week, with 239 GRPs.
