India ratings: ‘KBC’ pushes Sony TV to fourth place

The ever dependable hit gameshow ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ came to the rescue of Sony Entertainment Television Asia by pushing it back up to fourth place.

In official data for Week 34 of 2014, Sony TV returned to number four after ‘KBC’ clocked in 8.9 TVM for its launch episode on Sunday 17th August. The show averaged with 5.2 TVM during its first week of telecast. Sony TV delivered 366 GVMs (last week 263).

Star Plus remained the most dominant player with 559 TVMs – a huge fall from 689 GVMs in the week before. The channel certainly suffered a setback after the demise of its mythological show ‘Mahabharat’. ZEE TV was in second with 465 GVMs (last week 453). Colors was in third with 377 GVMs (last week 411).

Sony TV was in fourth, followed by Star Life Ok with 287.8 GVMs (last week 302) and Sony SAB TV in sixth with 287.6 GVMs (last week 278). Zindagi remained firm with 26 GVMs.
