India ratings: IPL viewing takes another tumble

The latest season of the Indian Premier League cricket is failing to attract huge eyeballs when compared to the previous series.

According to Indian TV audience measuring body TAM, matches played between 26th April and 2nd May barely managed an average rating of above 4 TVR.

The new average of 4.08 TVR is a fall, considering that the matches played between 18th – 25th April got an average rating of 4.6. For last year, the average rating was 4.8 TVR.

In the new period, just three matches got a rating of over five. The highest rating was for the Mumbai Indians versus Kolkata Knight Riders which got a rating of 6.09 TVR on 27th April.

Sony Entertainment Network’s MAX channel owns the rights for the IPL in India. In the UK, Setanta hold the telecast rights here.
