India ratings: IPL viewing figures fail to pick-up

The latest season of the Indian Premier League has witnessed a slow growth in viewing figures across India.

According to audience measuring body TAM, MAX, the official Indian broadcaster has managed to pick an average audience of 4.6 between 18th and 25th April. This is a slight dip from last year’s inaugural edition.

In the six metros the matches averaged a TVR of 4.9. The highest rating came in the match between KKR and RR, garnering a TVR of 6.1. The match between CSK and RCB on 20th April got a rating of 6.04.

The IPL seems to be popular in Mumbai with an average audience of 6.1 for the eleven matches from 19th April to the 25th April. The match between KKR and RR got a TVR of 8.7, the peak rating in Mumbai.
