India ratings: ‘Golmaal 3’ boosts Colors share

Colors has come close to overtaking market leader, Star Plus in the latest Indian ratings supplied by audience measuring body, TAM.

Colors’ audience share was boosted with the World TV Premiere of blockbuster ‘Golmaal 3’ in data for week ending Saturday 19th February.

‘Golmaal 3′ was aired on Colors on Sunday 13th February and garnered a TVR of 5.03. It lifted the channel’s GRPs to 283 from 238 points in the previous week.

Star Plus lost 19 GRPs this week, with a total of 299 GRPs. The gap between Star Plus and Colors was of merely 16 points. Star Plus’ ratings were knocked due to ‘Golmaal 3’ and the India Vs Bangladesh Cricket World Cup opening match on Saturday 19th February.

ZEE TV lost 9 GRPs to end the week on 210 GRPs, while Sony Entertainment Television Asia was the biggest loser this week. It lost 37 points to garner just 143 points. Its sister station SAB TV also lost 19 points and totaled 134 GRPs. Imagine TV has not benefitted much from its new Shah Rukh Khan show ‘Zor Ka Jhatka – Total Wipeout’, it managed just 75 GRPs – losing 11 points from the previous week.
