India ratings: Colors viewership rises; other decline

Colors was the only Indian entertainment channel that gained viewership in the latest Indian television ratings, according to official data from TAM for Week 40 of 2014.

Star Plus remained the market leader but with a loss of 44 GVMs – it attracted 549 GVM this week (last week 593 GVM). The channel’s fictions have been suffering of late. Colors was in second place with 433 GVM (last week 431 GVM) – The film premiere of ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ clocked up 3.7 TVMs. ZEE TV was in third with 401 GVMs – down from 417 GVM last week.

Star Life Ok was in fourth place with 299 GVM (last week 307 GVM), Sony SAB was next with 254 GVM (last week 264 GVM), Sony Entertainment Television Asia rounded off the top six with 234 GVM (last week 247 GVM) and .

Sony Pal was down from 26 GVM to just 23 GVM, similarly Zindagi was down from 26 to 20 GVM. Sahara One stayed bottom with 10 GVM (last week 11 GVM).
