India ratings: Colors up after ‘KBC’ ends on Sony TV

After the series end of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ on Sony Entertainment Television Asia, Colors can now breathe a sigh of relief and recover lost ground.

Despite two new shows and a film premiere of ‘Meri Brother Ki Dulhan’, Sony TV lost 38 GRPs in Week 48 of 2011. Sony TV registered 231 GRPs this week (last week 269) making it the number three Hindi entertainment channel.

‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ scored ratings of 2.3 and 2.5 during the two telecasts it received last Sunday. New show ‘Parvarish’ averaged at 2.3 TVR and ‘Dekha Ek Khwaab’ 1.5 TVR on Sony TV. It will be interesting to see how the channel fares on its new fiction shows line-up on weeknights.

Star Plus led the way with 312 GRPs (last week 314). Colors was in second with 277 GRPs (last week 234). It was pushed further by the entry of adult star Sunny Leone into the ‘Bigg Boss’ house. ZEE TV was in fourth – losing further eyeballs. It recorded 149 GRPs (last week 161).

SAB TV is also having a tough time of late. It has been losing viewership – this week it lost 7 GRPs to register 108 GRPs (last week 115).
