India ratings: Colors topples Star Plus in Urban market

Backed with its new shows ‘Mahakali’, ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ and a resurgent ‘Shakti’, Colors replaced Star Plus at the No.1 position in the Urban market in India, according to official data from BARC for Week 31 of 2017.

Colors registered 429.820 million Impressions, followed by Star Plus with 411.654 million Impressions and ZEE TV with 381.307 million Impressions. Sony Entertainment Television was in fourth with 295.538 million Impressions and Sony SAB TV in fifth with 280.299 million Impressions.

The top rated show in the Urban market was ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa – Lil Champs’ on ZEE TV with 7.647 million Impressions, followed by ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ on Colors with 6.975 million Impressions and ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ on Sony SAB TV with 6.282 million Impressions.

In the Rural market, ZEE Anmol was the biggest channel with 559.653 million Impressions, followed by Rishtey with 422.053 million Impressions and Sony Pal in third with 393.611 million Impressions. In fourth place was ZEE TV with 263.353 million Impressions and Star Utsav next with 226.655 million Impressions.

The top rated show in the Rural market was ‘Naagin – Season 2’ on Rishtey with 8.909 million Impressions, followed by ‘Jamai Raja’ on ZEE Anmol with 7.404 million Impressions and ‘Kaala Teeka’ on ZEE Anmol with 5.386 million Impressions.

In the combined U&R data, ZEE Anmol was the overall leader with 711.757 million Impressions, followed by ZEE TV with 644.660 million Impressions and Colors with 633.197 million Impressions.
