India ratings: Colors takes back lead in Urban market

With ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ proving a huge hit for Colors, the channel returned to the No.1 position in the Urban market, leaving Star Plus behind.

According to BARC data for Week 33 of 2017, Colors led the Urban market with 414.753 million Impressions, followed closely behind by Star Plus with 409.961 million Impressions and ZEE TV in third with 379.772 million Impressions. Sony SAB TV was in fourth with 288.468 million Impressions and Sony Entertainment Television in fifth 280.912 million Impressions.

‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ on Colors was the most watched in the Urban market with 7.213 million Impressions, while ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa – Lil Champs’ on ZEE TV with 7.060 million Impressions and ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ on Sony SAB TV with 5.943 million Impressions.

In the Rural market, ZEE Anmol remained the top choice with 526.017 million Impressions, followed by Sony Pal at No.2 with 395.287 million Impressions and Rishtey in third with 382.416 million Impressions. ZEE TV was in fourth place with 248.686 million Impressions and Star Utsav next with 238.426 million Impressions.

The top rated show in the Rural market was ‘Jamai Raja’ on ZEE Anmol with 6.275 million Impressions, followed by ‘Kaala Teeka’ on ZEE Anmol with 5.223 million Impressions and ‘Baalveer’ on Sony SAB TV in third with 5.216 million Impressions.

In combined U&R data, ZEE Anmol was India’s most watched Hindi entertainment channel with 671.478 million Impressions, followed by ZEE TV with 628.459 million Impressions and Colors climbing up to No.3 with 603.601 million Impressions. ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa – Lil Champ’s was top show in the both regions with 11.317 million Impressions, followed by ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ on Colors with 10.575 million Impressions and ‘Kundali Bhagya’ on ZEE TV with 10.096 million Impressions.

It is worth noting that Star Plus fictions did not feature in the Top 5 list of any of the markets.
