India ratings: Colors & STAR Plus on par

Colors is keeping current market leader STAR Plus on its tod after levelling on channel share in the latest round of audience figures.

For the fourth week of 2009, only 7 GRP (gross rating points) separates Colors from STAR Plus. According to data by TAM Media research data covering C&S 4+, STAR Plus has increased its GRP from 271 in Week 3 to 293 in Week 4, while Colors has increased its GRP from 263 in Week 3 to 286 in Week 4.

Amongst the other channels, ZEE TV has performed well in the same week but settling for the third week yet again. Its relative share stands at 18 per cent and points for the channel have gone up from 195 to 221. The surge of points is down to the successful live telecast of the ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Grand Finale’, which was held last week. That show alone notched up TRP of 4.9.

Sony Entertainment Television Asia and NDTV Imagine are placed at number four and five, respectively. From a relative share of 8 per cent in Week 3, Sony TV has witnessed a decline to 6 per cent in Week 4, as its GRP have fallen from 93 to 74. NDTV Imagine has remained steady with a 6 per cent share and its GRP have increased from 65 to 73. This is expected to increase in days to come as NDTV Imagine has recently unveiled its new shows.

STAR One has managed 64 GRPs, Sahara One with just 54 GRPs and SAB TV has 42 points. 9X and STAR Utsav continue to disappoint with only 33 GRPs.
