India Ratings: Colors rejoices after staying firmly at No.1 in Urban region

Colors continued to dominate India ratings for the Urban region, leading the Hindi General Entertainment category with 505 million Impressions and a 21.1% market share.

According to stats released by the broadcaster, Colors is the premier primetime destination for viewers on weekdays and weekends with 370 million Impressions and a 25.4% market share. The channel also ranks top amongst 15+ All Adults and HGEC core TG of Females 15+.

As well as ‘Naagin 4’ and ‘Bigg Boss 13’, Colors has been riding high with marquee properties like ‘Choti Sarrdaarni’, ‘Shakti’, ‘Vidya’, ‘Naati Pinky Ki Lambi Love Story’ and ‘Barrister Babu’.

Focusing on the channel’s key programmes, ‘Bigg Boss 13’ has emerged as the No.1 non-fiction property of the Hindi General Entertainment category, reaching out to over 213 million viewers across all of its airing on both Colors SD and HD (Source: HSM Urban 2+, Pay+Free Universe, All NCCS, Week 40’19-7’20).

‘Bogg Boss 13’ was the highest-rated season ever, with bumper ratings each day and each week when the show was on-air. The finale episode garnered 10.5 million Impressions, not only making it the highest-rated finale episode across non-fiction shows of the category (in the BARC universe) but also highest-rated finale episode on the history of ‘Bigg Boss’ (since BB Season 1).

Continuing with the successes of the channel, ‘Naagin 4’ was the best launch of the Hindi General Entertainment category of 2019; It is the highest-rated fiction show of the category since launch (Source: HSM Urban 2+, Pay+Free Universe, All NCCS, Week 53’19-7’20, Saturday-Sunday).

‘Choti Sarrdaarni’ was the reviving factor for Colors’ fiction line-up; The show has witnessed the best growth in the category with a 2.6x (multiplier); The show now continues to be amongst the Top 3 weekday fiction shows.

Shakti continues its successful run and maintains its slot leadership; While the show continues to feature in the Top-10 fiction shows of the category. The show has undergone a leap, with the introduction of new characters, and fresh look. It has touched the right chord with audiences all over again.
