Big Star Entertainment Awards prove a hit on Star Plus

The start of the new year has delivered fantastic news for Star Plus after it recorded the highest ever ratings, mainly thanks to the broadcast of the Big Star Entertainment Awards on New Years Eve.

According to official data from TAM for Week 1 of 2014, Star Plus pulled in 647 million TVT with a relative share of 25.19% (last week 606 million TVT with 24.34% relative share).

Colors stayed in second place but saw a slight dip in its ratings post the end of ‘Bigg Boss 7’. It delivered a gross viewership of 522 million. It had a relative share of 20.33% (last week 527 million TVT with 21.16% relative share).

ZEE TV added 18 million in its ratings, staying firm in third with 449 million TVT and a relative share of 17.48% (last week 431 million with 17.31% relative share).

Sony SAB TV drew the biggest ever ratings with a record 361 million TVT with 14.06% relative share (last week 330 million TVT and 13.25% relative share).

Sony Entertainment Television Asia stayed in fifth place with 266 million. It had a relative share of 10.36% relative share (last week 272 million TVTs with 10.92% of relative share).
