India ratings: BARC releases first data

India’s new television ratings system, Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) has published its first official data.

According to ratings for Week 16 of 2015, Star Plus remained top 495 GRPs – but slightly lower when reported by TAM previously, which was at 545 GVMs. Colors was a close second with 441 GRPs. Life Ok took third place with 366 GRPs and ZEE TV slipped to fourth with 311 GRPs.

The next tier consisted of SAB TV with 262 GRPs, Sony Entertainment Television Asia next with 234 GRPs and &TV with 107 GRPs.

Sony Pal reported 40 GRPs.
