In Video: Imran Khan takes stand against homophobia
The recent gay rights law changes in India made everyone, including Bollywood celebrities, express their shock. However, once such actor has taken a particular stand about homophobic behaviour and this is Imran Khan.
Khan has come together with a comedic collectiveAll India Bakc**d (AIB) to create a video about the section 377 which makes gay sex illegal. “I۪ve always been involved with gay rights. The scenario in this country is disheartening and depressing. These are basic human rights that people are being denied of; they۪re no minority,” says Khan, according to Hindustan Times.
AIB, made up of four comedians Tanmay Bhat, Gursimran Khamba, Ashish Shakya and Rohan Joshi were also a part of the anti-rape video featuring Kalki Koechlin which went viral.
“We will take all the prejudices and amplify them until people realise that what they۪re doing is wrong. This has become a cultural and moral issue, but morals are subjective. They are opinions, not facts…” Khan added.
