In Video: Highlights video of London Mela 2019

The London Mela, Europe’s biggest festival of South Asian culture, closed an extraordinary celebration of diversity, equality and inclusion in true Mela style with a mighty finale. The Dhol Academy collaborated with award-winning digital artists Addictive TV producing the mind bending Dhol Addiction. A montage of sound and image, filmed with hundreds of musicians from all around the world, provided a score and backdrop for live Dhols on stage creating a fitting fusion of sounds before a spectacular firework display closing London Mela 2019.

London Mela Artistic Director Ajay Chhabra said: “Events for communities to come together are even more important in these challenging times and the London Mela 2019 proved once again just what an important cultural event it is. The huge diverse crowd was testament to that. A big thank you to all our performers, traders, sponsors and partners for creating such a celebratory weekend.”
