In Video: Ed Sheeran collaborates with Arijit Singh for ‘Sapphire’

Global music sensation Ed Sheeran has collaborated with Arijit Singh on his latest single, ‘Sapphire’.
The track features Sheeran and Singh singing together in Punjabi, with the lyrics “They sparkle just like stars”, capturing the song’s ethereal and poetic essence.
Reflecting on the creative process, Sheeran shared that ‘Sapphire’ was the first song he completed for his upcoming album Play, marking the moment he defined its musical direction. He explained that recording in Goa, alongside some of India’s finest musicians, helped shape the album’s sound and authenticity.

Speaking about Singh’s involvement, Sheeran remarked, “The final piece of the puzzle was bringing Arijit onto the track. We’ve recorded a full Punjabi version, which will be released in the coming weeks and showcases even more of him. This is the album version, and it’s my favourite song on the record. I hope you all love it.”
The visually striking music video for ‘Sapphire’, directed by Liam Pethick, features Singh and includes a cameo appearance from Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan.
