In Pictures: Vivek-Mallika in ‘Kismet Love Paisa Dilli’

When a college guy and agirl next door miss their last train home, one would imagine their journey home to be eventful to say the least. Amit Chandrra’s ‘Kismet Love Paisa Dilli’, directed by Sanjay Khanduri,is set in Delhi and stars first-time jodiVivek Oberoi and Mallika Sherawat as Lokesh and Lovina. Khanduri’s first film, ‘Ek Chaalis Ki Last Local’ (2007), received much praise from critics and audiences.

Just a week ago, the two shot a romantic song for the film titled ‘Dishkiyaoon’. Choreographed by the renowned Brinda, the song was an interesting experience for the crew of the movie. Sherawat adorned a low-cut top and mini skirt for the shoot and was the causeof distractionfor a rickshaw driver who was part of a scene in the song. So much so was the actress’s effect that Oberoi had to step in and ride the rickshaw himself to avoid an already long queue of retakes for the scene in question.

Brinda spoke about working with both Sherawat and Oberoi, “I had a fantastic time working with them and both of them were thoroughly professional. We had 2 days to wrap up ‘Dishkiyaoon’ which meant there would be long rehearsals in scorching heat but neither of them complained.”

A member of the crew also describes the fun that was had during the filming, “The makers of Kismet Love Paisa Dilli made sure the essence of Delhi was felt at Filmistan. Over 100 Punjabi dancers were burning up the dance floor, the unit was even treated to Delhi specialities like lassi and parathes! The entire set was done up like the streets of old Delhi, many authentic props were used to create the unique flavour that Delhi has to offer”.
