I light a diya everyday for many years now. And as I light the diya I seek guidance, asking for the darkness in me to be dispelled. For many days since the turn of the recent events across the world, I have prayed to God to end the suffering of so many who are losing their lives without their families beside them, for the less-fortunate and the needy whose lives have turned upside down completely, for all the healthcare professionals who are working tirelessly & bravely to protect the lives of other beings, for those who are uncertain about their jobs and future. So tonight, I prayed extra for everyone and I lit diyas with the whole of India and we all prayed for each other. Prayers never go in vain. ๐Ÿช”๐Ÿ’œโœจ

LOCKDOWN DIARIES: DAY 12 Not sure if lighting a candle or diya helps fighting #Covid19 .. But it does help to feel that we are part of something larger. And we are, never has the world experienced something quite so horrific, so simultaneously. And never has national policy been so crucial in keeping its peoples safe (Trump being case in point) I donโ€™t trust the numbers of infected people that are being reported, simply because we arenโ€™t testing enough. But one canโ€™t lie about deaths .. those have to be reported. And in that regard our numbers are low, even though each life lost is irreparable .. To give him due credit, #NarenderModi is a master of symbolism .. to the unlettered person in India, he has made simple acts of #taali (sound) and #diya (light) an act of bringing people together .. I canโ€™t imagine any other national leader bringing the nation, all 1.4 billion people, to lockdown as #NaMo has done. He knows the pulse of India and Indians very well.. The excellent work done by the chief ministers of States like our own #udhavthackeray #Kerelaโ€™s #PinarayiVijayan amongst others will remain as a great victory of the states at the time of Covid19 I missed my #yoga today but made up with a 50 minute walk this evening. We had some dry Tinda made in yogurt with nutri-pea curry with salad and jowar rotis. BUT the piรจce de rรฉsistance was the bread pudding made lovingly by the husband, with help from Ma in law over the phone ๐Ÿคซ.. Iโ€™m not supposed to know but the lockdown has made the city so quite .. Anyway the #Lockdown has brought out hidden talents in most of us .. Tara and I made noodles for dinner with a recipe provided by @meera_sikkim .. head to stories to see the result.. Starting #Fleabag tonight .. What are you guys watching? #9pm9minutes #Stayhome #StaySafe #LockdownDiaries #21In #GettingThrough21 #Making21Count xx TC
