The Indian Premier League (IPL) auction took place on Wednesday 12th February. In a rare appearance, Ranbir Kapoor was also present it was soon revealed that he was the intern for Pepsi, the title sponsor for the tournament, and a unique social media campaign would be his job for the day.
Kapoor was believed to be tweeting with the handle @ThatPepsiIntern, giving regular updates of the happenings of the auction and generally upping the excitement and attempting to lure in new fans to the game. A release by Pepsi said, ���@ThatPepsiIntern will generate exclusive content from the IPL 2014 and will be the link between the fans and celebrities, bringing the Pepsi IPL experience alive�.
Kapoor was seen tweeting photos and videos on the handle which will be live throughout. The statement continued, ���They can ask @ThatPepsiIntern to complete unique tasks for them in the stadium and even win tickets to the matches through contests. @ThatPepsiIntern gives people a chance to not just be AT the Pepsi IPL, but BE the Pepsi IPL�.
The IPL will start in April and will end at the end of May.
