In Picture: Deepika Padukone joins cast of ’83’
It was revealed earlier this week that Deepika Padukone has been confirmed to play a pivotal role in Kabir Khan’s ’83’ opposite husband, Ranveer Singh.
The film, which is currently being shot in Glasgow, will see Padukone play Romi Dev – the wife of Kapil Dev. Incidentally, Kapil’s character will be portrayed by Singh.
Singh took to social media to share a picture of the team, with the caption, “drum roll* All smiles as All-star @deepikapadukone joins the #83squad !!! @83thefilm @kabirkhankk.”
In another picture, the caption read, “Who better to play My Wifey than My Wifey?! @deepikapadukone plays Romi Dev in @83thefilm !!! Genius casting courtesy @kabirkhankk #83squad.”
Previously, Padukone spoke about working with husband Singh for the first time after their marriage, She said, “When you are in the business of movies, you are playing a character. Of course, all of this is yet to play out, but at the end of the day, you are essaying a role, and at that point, you are not thinking whether your co-actor is your husband, brother or someone you know closely. All you try to do is, be honest in that moment.”
