Imtiaz Ali on why he has no plans for ‘Jab We Met’ sequel
Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has confirmed that he has no plans to create a sequel to the beloved romantic film ‘Jab We Met’.
Speaking at the Jaipur Literature Festival, Ali stated, “I do not believe in making sequels. While there is a market for them and investors are willing to fund such projects, the enjoyment factor may not be the same. Personally, I would only consider a sequel if I genuinely felt the story could be extended; otherwise, I prefer not to work on them.”

Addressing speculation about a follow-up to the 2007 film starring Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan, he added, “It is not possible at all. Even fans would not want to see Geet (played by Kareena) and Aditya (played by Shahid) facing conflicts or complexities in their relationship. So, I am not making it.”
