Imran Khan is back on the silver screen with his next, ‘Katti Batti’. He was last seen in Punit Malhotra’s ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’ in 2013but the film failed to impress the audiences and Khan admits that he lost two films right after its failure.

According to Pinkvilla, Khan admitted that he was deemed as not bankable, after his last three films didn’t work out. He said, “My last three films didn’t work and I was suddenly not considered bankable. The day ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’ tanked, I lost two more films. I received a call from Nikhil the very next day. He wanted me to the film and I gave him a nod. But the time Nikhil wanted to shoot, my wife Avantika was pregnant. Hence I couldn’t allot him dates. So then we decided to delay the film and it is finally releasing now.”

One of the films that didn’t work out was the much talked about ‘Bhavesh Joshi’ directed by Vikramaditya Motwane.Khan parted ways with Motwane as they didn’t share the same vision. He added, “Vikramaditya Motwane and I were seeing ‘Bhavesh Joshi’ differently. And essentially, in terms of the genre and the style of the film, he felt a certain direction that it should go and I felt opposite. That vision we were not able to align and I didn’t feel comfortable asking him to change it to what I wanted. I as an actor didn’t want to do something that I didn’t like and hence we parted ways.”

‘Katti Batti’ is slated to release on 18th September and also stars Kangna Ranaut.
