Imran Khan axed from Sony’s ‘Kulvaddhu’

Lead actor of Sony Entertainment Television Asia’s new daily drama ‘Kulvaddhu’, Imran Khan, has been sacked by the channel and show producers.

The actor, who is seen as Shourya, has been shown the door due his haughty behaviour. Imran has already stopped shooting and is currently in his hometown, New Delhi.

The reason behind him being sacked was due to a showdown he had on the sets in front of the crew, as he was unhappy with the jacket provided to him.

Says an onlooker, “He was so angry about it that he declared that he would burn it as he was the hero of the show!” As a result, the actor had to pay the price for his high and mighty attitude.

Says a co-star, “Imran would tall claims on the sets about his body of work۪ and how senior he is as compared to other actors (Daljit Kaur, Shaleen Bhanot and Ayaz Khan) on the show. But the point was that no one even knew him or the roles that he played in his earlier shows!”

Despite bagging the lead role in ‘Kulvaddhu’, Imran had been having major issues with the producers from day one. Adds the onlooker, “He would talk badly about the channel folks and the production house. In the past, too, he had refused to shoot for the show.”

Sony is keen to pencil in ‘Bigg Boss’ contestant Amit Sadh again to play Shourya. Vivaan Bhatena, who features in Kumkum, is also under consideration.
