A challenging role is not called a challenge for no reason. When Imran Khan agreed to do Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola’, he did not anticipate the difficulties that came with it.

Khan’s character speaks Haryanvi andthe actor found it extremely difficult to deliver. So much so was the challenge that he even considered in dropping the project altogether. “While we were doing script reading for the first time I was unable to deliver dialogues in Haryanvi. It was all not easy at all. I felt I made a mistake by agreeing to do this film. I felt I should back out,” NDTVreported the actor stating.

However, like a good directorBhardwaj convinced Khan to stick with it, andgave himhis support all the way. Mama Aamir Khan also gave the young actor some advice, “I remember Aamir telling me that I should go to Haryana for six months, so that I get things in a more right and appropriate way. It was not feasible.”

Now back on track after months of researching and rehearsing, Khan is well underway. With a full grown beard, Khan sports a more rugged look for the film which is another thing he is doing for the first time.
