Imagine axes ‘Aarakshan’ & ‘Rakt Sambandh’

Imagine TV is doing away with ‘Armanon Ka Balidaan…Aarakshan’ and ‘Rakt Sambandh’ by axing both next month due to poor ratings.

Both shows have been under the scanner for some time. In fact, ‘Aarakshan’ had been facing problems before it launched late last year due to its title. The legal dispute favoured filmmaker Prakash Jha, who owned the title rights for his upcoming Amitabh Bachchan starring movie.

However, the drama has not been able to click with viewers due to its hard-hitting reservation system storyline. Furthermore, the recent entry of Dolly Bindra wasn’t enough to lift the ratings.

‘Rakt Sambandh’, which started off well, had its audience dwindle when it was shifted to the early evening slot of 19:00. It was moved to make way for Shah Rukh Khan’s show ‘Zor Ka Jhatka – Total Wipeout’, which too proved a ratings flop.

‘Aarakshan’ and ‘Rakt Sambandh’ will be bidding adieu to viewers on Friday 29th April in the UK, which will then eventually see the launch of ‘Swayamavar 3’ being introduced on the channel (around 30th May). Up until then, viewers will see re-runs or repeats of existing shows.
