Huma Qureshi inspired by Anushka Sharma as producer

BizAsiaLive.com reported not long ago that Huma Qureshi and brother Saqib Saleem want to turn producers soon. The former has spoken about how inspirational she finds Anushka Sharma as a producer.

“I think what Anushka and Karnesh [Anushka’s brother] are doing, is remarkable. They have paved the way for many who want to get into it [production]. They come from a strong family, and they have produced some really good films [NH10 and Phillauri], with good content,” said Qureshi, according to Hindustan Times.

Qureshi went on the mention that the industry has paved the way for female actors to have more opportunities, “I am not sure if production has become easier, and whether that’s why people are getting into it. But I think a lot of women have started becoming producers, and it’s a healthy trend. Lots of women are getting behind the camera, and the perception that female actors have a shelf life, is now going out of the window. It’s a better work environment now”.

On the kind of movies they would produce, Qureshi reveals, “As actors, you are dependent on being hired by someone. It’s almost like that we are manual labour working for daily wages (laughs). So when you are producing, you don’t have to do that. Saqib and I, are planning to take up production, though we haven’t started anything as yet. Whenever we decide to launch our production house, it will be more massy. It will be situational comedies”.

Qureshi and Saleen shared the screen in ‘Dobaara’ which released earlier this year.
