Hum TV to air Fawad Khan drama ‘Dastaan’ in UK

Hum TV has confirmed that it will be broadcasting the controversial series ‘Dastaan’ in UK/Europe later this month.

The patriotic series is based on the novel ‘Bano’. The show follows the character of Bano and her fiance, who face the issues caused by the partition of India and independence of Pakistan, and takes place between 1947 and 1956. It stars Sanam Baloch, Ahsan Khan and popular star Fawad Khan.

The show was embroiled in controversy after a notice was issued by Justice Mukul Mudgal Zindagi on receiving a complaint by the Indian Ministry of Broadcasting and Information. It stated that the show had depicted Indians in bad light.

‘Dastaan’ will air Saturday and Sundays at 21:00 on Hum TV UK/Europe, from Saturday 19th September.
