Hum Masala to exclusively broadcast PSL 2019 in UK/Europe

Hum TV Network has confirmed that it has finalised a broadcasting deal with Alliance Advertising and Marketing to air the Pakistan Super League 2019 (PSL 2019) in UK/Europe.

The fourth edition of the lucrative tournament will be aired exclusively on Hum Masala on Sky channel 720, for the second year running. This is the first time that Hum Masala will not be sharing the coverage with another broadcaster. The previous three tournaments have aired on Prime TV.

Over the last few days, there has been much anticipation in the industry as to who will broadcast the PSL. BizAsiaLive.com understands that there were a number of broadcasters in contention but it was Hum TV Network’s offer that won over the bid.

Announcing this news, Nasir Jamal, General Manager of Hum TV’s International Operations stated, “This marks the beginning of a trend for Hum Network, we aired PSL last years and the response of viewers was phenomenal, so I am really pleased we will be able to follow suit this year too in collaboration with Alliance with whom we enjoy a very cordial relation.”

PSL 2019 will broadcast live and exclusively on Hum Masala in UK/Europe, with re-runs of each match shown on sister channel, Hum News, Sky channel 782. This will certainly enhance the viewing experience for viewers, who may miss out on live coverage of matches due to the time difference between Dubai and the UK.

PSL 2019 gets underway on Thursday 14th February in Dubai. It compromises of 34 matches, eight of which will be played in Pakistan this year including the final, which will be held at Karachi on Sunday 17th of March 2019.
