Hum Gold set to launch “within weeks”

The UK’s No.1 Pakistani entertainment channel, Hum TV is set to be joined by a new sibling in the UK.

BizAsiaLive.com can exclusively reveal that Hum Network will launch Hum Gold “within weeks” after it acquired an EPG slot to launch on Sky.

Hum Gold has been preparing for its launch for the past couple of years but had setbacks due to acquisition of EPG delays and change of sales and marketing agency in the UK. However, this time, the channel has come closest yet to launch Hum Gold in the UK. It is understood, plans are being rushed to launch the channel before the big changes take effect in the Sky Original Pack in August.

Hum Gold will be the first from Hum Network to launch specifically for the international audiences. Hum Gold will re-run popular shows from the HUm TV library, as well as broadcast shows from sister channels, Hum Masala and Hum Sitaray.

BizAsiaLive.com has also learnt that unlike other rival Asian TV channels, Hum TV and Hum Gold will remain free-to-air on the Sky platform.
