Hrithik Roshan was offered ‘Thug’ ten years ago?

Call it fate but Hrithik Roshan was reportedly offered the script of ‘Thug’ around ten years ago.

Box Office India reports that the film, which is rumoured to be based on novel ‘Confession Of A Thug’, is the same, which Sanjay Leela Bhansali was keen to adapt on celluloid a few years ago. At that time, the film was called ‘Jhirni’. However, Roshan opted out of the project after learning Bhansali was not directing it. Then years later, Shahid Kapoor was approached for the same film, along with his father Pankaj Kapur but Bhansali got busy with other films. Now, the film has come back full circle and landed back in the laps of Roshan.

It is already reported that Amitabh Bachchan will be playing a pivotal role in the film, with Roshan. It is directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya. It is expected to go on the floors this September.

‘Confession Of A Thug’ is a crime and retribution tale based in India in 1832.
