The never ending legal battle between Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut continues to cause waves. Now, according to reports, the Mumbai Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU) have summoned Roshan to appear before them over the weekend to record his statement in a case he had registered against Ranaut back in 2016. The CIU, in particular, have been investigating the emails exchanging case filed by Roshan against Ranaut.

Five years ago, he had filed a complaint under IPC section 419 (cheating by personation), along with section 66C (identity theft) and 66D (cheating by personation using computer resources) of the Information Technology Act. In response, Ranaut hit Roshan with legal notices and claimed that the email ID was provided to her by Roshan and they had been communicating through the same email ID until 2014. Allegedly, the emails were sent in 2013 and 2014, reports Pinkvilla.

After Ranaut referred to Roshan as her “silly ex in 2016”, the ‘War’ (2019) star had sent a legal notice in reply. He had also denied having any kind of relationship with her. The duo had worked together in ‘Kites’ (2010) and ‘Krrish 3’ (2013). In 2016, Roshan had claimed that Ranaut had been sending him hundreds of emails which led to him accusing her of of harassment.

After concluding that the emails were sent from Ranaut’s ID, the police had recorded her statement following an initial probe. However, she denies sending emails to Roshan.
