Hrithik Roshan opts-out of Rajkumar Gupta’s ‘Black Tiger’

It has emerged that Hrithik Roshan has decided to opt-out of Rajkumar Gupta’s ‘Black Tiger’. The news comes about as the ‘Super 30’ (2019) actor is currently in the process of selecting the next four scripts for his future films.

Reported on Asian Age, a source explains the reason behind Roshan’s decision, “The issue with the film offered by Rajkumar Gupta was not that it was just about a spy. It does not have a great ending, because Ravindra Kaushik did not meet a good end. Hrithik’s friends told him to do stuff that was a lot more commercial in nature, and they needed a lot of song and dance from their superstar buddy.”

Salman Khan’s ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ (2012) was loosely based on Kaushik’s story, and John Abraham’s ‘Romeo Akbar Walter’ (2018) also had a similar storyline.

‘Black Tiger’ is based on Indian RAW Agent Kaushik, who was a 23-year-old theatre actor and was allegedly hired by India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) to infiltrate Pakistan. Kaushik joined the Pakistani Army as a Major, but was later arrested and died in Pakistani custody. Former home minister SB Chavan gave Kaushik the title of ‘Black Tiger’, even though the Indian government had disowned him.

As for now Roshan will next be seen in ‘WAR’ with Tiger Shroff and Vanni Kapoor. The official trailer dropped today and is slated to release on 4th October 2019.
