Hrithik Roshan۪s fee for ‘Thug’ deemed too high?

Rumour has it that Hrithik Roshan۪s departure from Thug۪ was due to his demand for afee that was deemed too high by Yash Raj Films’ head honcho Aditya Chopra.

A source revealed to DNA, Hrithik asked YRF for a hefty fee of `60 crore for Thug, which Aditya Chopra felt was too high. They tried to negotiate but when they couldn۪t reach an understanding, they decided to part ways.۝ The source also added, Even superstars like Shah Rukh, Salman, Aamir Khan have a reasonable take-home. They are bankable stars and still charge into a profit-sharing agreement with production houses. Hrithik didn۪t want that. He wanted a flat fee of 60 crore and that was outright rejected by Adi. Profit sharing also means that the actor might not make major moolah if his film fails to work at the BO. So it۪s risky, which is why Hrithik perhaps wanted a flat fee, which is safe.۝

With the film being an adventure saga, there is already a concern that the film will be expensive to make and this is without Roshan۪s fee. Roshan۪s 60 crore demand means the film would have had to make over 250 crore to break even, which can be seen as possible given Roshan۪s pulling power at the box office. But for now it seems that Chopra is not too keen on adding extra costs to the movie.
