‘Housefull 4’ sets cost makers Rs. 20 crore

The cast of ‘Housefull 4’ have already wrapped up two of their schedules which were shot in London, UK and Rajasthan, India. The next instalment will be shot in Mumbai and it has emerged that this set has cost a colossal Rs 20 crore.

Reported on DNA India, the film which will be incorporating reincarnation as part of the storyline, have not compromised on detailing. A source revealed, “Producer Sajid Nadiadwala is leaving no stone unturned to make Housefull 4 a visual delight. The two sets that have been erected at the Chitrakoot Ground and Vrindavan Studio in Mumbai have cost him around Rs 20 crore. The film’s overall budget is a sum total of the money that he spent on the other three movies in the franchise.”

Due to the period features in the film the source gave a few details of what the set will look like, “The set gives you a feel of the yesteryear era, which was seen in the Baahubali franchise. There’s the king’s darbar which has pillars that are as high as 36 feet, long pathways and marble flooring. There are precious stones embedded on the throne and the pillars have fine detailing.”

Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, production designers Subrata Chakraborty and Amit Ray were given the brief to ensure the sets depicted the period grandeur in the film. To give an insight of how big the set is, the source shared a few more details, “It can accommodate close to 1,000 people at one go. There are major portions of the past life which will be shot here along with a song, too.”

The film will also be applying VFX for these particular scenes, so it was crucial all the detailing was flawless. And of course the makers have imposed strict instructions of no phones allowed on set. “The makers don’t want the pictures to be leaked because they want to reveal it closer to the film’s promo launch. So, nobody is allowed to carry their phones on the sets,” mentions the source.

‘Housefull 4’ which features Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hedge and Kriti Kharbanda, is slated to release next October.
