Honey Irani speaks out about #MeToo campaign

With the #MeToo movement taking the world by storm, Indian writer Honey Irani has spoken up about how some women are being scrutinised for going public with their encounters.

Taking to social media, Irani said, “It’s sad that now that women are talking, most people don’t listen, and ask why did you not speak up then? Well, this is exactly why, when you can’t deal with it now, imagine how could you 10 or 15 years back. If you can’t support this movement fine, but please don’t mock it.”

One of the latest names to be accused of sexual harassment is Irani’s nephew Sajid Khan, who has had multiple women speaking up about how he had been inappropriate with them.

Due to the allegations set against him, Khan has stepped down from making the fourth instalment of his ‘Housefull’ franchise.
