As the conversation about nepotism in Bollywood continues, Hina Khan has recently highlighted the difficulties TV actors face when trying to enter the film industry.
“What we lack is equality. Nepotism exists everywhere and it does exist in our industry, too. If you are a star and you want to launch your child, this is absolutely fine. But, it is not fair when you do not give equal opportunities to outsiders. TV actors rarely make it big in Bollywood, simply because we don’t get a fair chance. At the very least, give us a chance to prove ourselves. “ , she said in an interview with IANS.
Khan also shared that in her experience, TV actors are often looked down upon in India, “Discrimination on the basis of medium should be stopped. An actor is an actor. It does not matter whether he or she works in a daily soap or a film or a digital show. If he or she is talented, then that particular person should be appreciated and should be given a chance to prove her/his skills.”
Khan’s latest film ‘Unlock’ is available to stream on ZEE5.
