Himesh Reshammiya, a favorite music composer of many, will be seen next, as one of the coaches on ‘The Voice India,’ alongside Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan, and Mika Singh. While judging is not new to him, having judged past season of ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’, Reshammiya says he will not be as aggressive as he was in past reality shows.

According to the Deccan Chronicle, Reshammiya is looking for unconventional voices, because he doesn’tuse conventional voices in his compositions. He said, “The concept is such that Mika, Sunidhi, Shaan, and I will try to convince singers to join our teams. I won’t be aggressive on the show. I have always had an emotional connect with contestantseven on my previous show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa as well because those are the contestants with whom I work in the future. I am looking for unconventional voices on the show because those are the voices I need for my songs. I don’t use conventional voices for my compositions.”

On asked why he is not taking up as many projects as before, Reshammiya answered, “There are a lot of people who work harder than me but this is my destiny. I used to take up 35 films a year but if I continue that, I will get exhausted in the next two years. If you observe these days, all artistes have become choosy. It’s because everyone wants to protect his or her career. A lot of planning goes into ensuring that every project becomes a super hit. In the past if we liked a song, we finalized it and the audience too liked it. Nowadays we listen to a song 10 times, make our team listen toit 20 times, even if we have one percent doubt, we scrap it and start working on a new song altogether because there is a pressure to do better than your previous hit and we don’t have a choice.”

Reshammiya is always indebted towards Salman Khan who gave him his first break. He thanked him, saying, “Salman Khan gave me a break and that proved to be a boon. By the grace of god, my first song was a blockbuster. After that I got 16-17 projects and all did well. I am still indebted to Salman and I’m working with him in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.”

‘The Voice India’ starts on 6th June on &TV.
