HC allows Sooraj Pancholi’s intervention in Jiah Khan CBI chargesheet

The late Jiah Khan’s mother Rabia went against a CBI chargesheet that her daughter died in homicide and not suicide. Now, it appears that an intervention order filed by Sooraj Pancholi – Jiah’s ex-boyfriend – has been allowed by Bombay High Court earlier today.

According to Deccan Chronicle, Pancholi filed an intervention application in November requesting a stay on the trial. He proposed that that Rabia had held information about Jiah’s childhood hidden during the investigation. He had said in the application that this was the reason Jiah had tried to commit suicide when she was younger. The actor, who made his B-town debut last year, said that he was entitled to a fair trial and this wouldn’t be the case if vital information wasn’t disclosed.

Justices RV More and Shalini Phansalkar allowed the intervention an a hearing is expected on 14th January.

Jiah died in June 2013 and Pancholi was arrested a week later. He was then released on 2nd July.
