‘Hate Story’ gets all-clear by Censor Board

The latest release Hate Story۪ (2012) by Vikram Bhatt has been clearedby the Censor Board of Film Certification, without any dialogue cuts. The promos of the film definitely gave audiences a shock۪, what with posters showing leading lady, Paoli Dam۪s, bare-back aswell as ateaser trailer of the film that expresses constant profanity.

The Hindustan Times reported that the CBOFC gave the film an A۪ (restricted to adults) certification. Director Vivek Agnihotri explained, That۪s what we were afraid of, given that some of what Paoli says is pretty explosive. But not a single line or even a word was beeped out۝.

He went ontodivulge how the Board left the editing of the film’s sensitive scenes up to the film-makers, Even the female members of the board agreed that it needed to be seen the way it had been conceived and written… After the screening, I was told to dilute five lovemaking scenes by reducing the length of the footage. What really impressed me was that the censors left it to our creative judgment to tone down the content keeping Indian sensibilities in mind. That kind of trust is a positive sign for filmmakers.۝

Alongside Paoli Dam, ‘Hate Story’ also stars Gulshan Devaiya and Nikhil Dwivedi.
