Harshvardhan Kapoor unhappy with Diljit winning at Filmfares

Harshvardhan Kapoor has expressed his dismay at Diljit Dosanjh winning the Best Debut Award at the Filmfare Awards last week.

He questioned the credibility of the awards after Kapoor pointed out that Dosanjh had already featured in a Hindi film and other regional projects. Dosanjh had taken the award home for ‘Udta Punjab’, while Kapoor, who made his debut with ‘Mirzya’ lost out.

Kapoor tweeted, “Don’t feel entitled to any award, I’m questioning the principle of who is a newcomer, have zero problems losing to a genuine newcomer.”

A Twitter user then complimented Kapoor for his role in the Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra film but added that Dosanjh was a more deserving winner. Kapoor then responded with, “The guy was in a Hindi film in 2008…And go through people’s filmographies while your at it”.
