Harshvardhan Kapoor apologises to Diljit Dosanjh

Harshvardhan Kapoor has apologised to Diljit Dosanjh after his Twitter rant last week over the Best Newcomer gong at the Filmfare Awards.

Kapoor who made his debut in ‘Mirzya’ last year, Dosanjh’s launch pad was the movie ‘Udta Punjab’. After Dosanjh walked away with the award, Kapoor took to Twitter to question the eligibility rules saaying Dosanjh had been seen in a Bollywood prior to ‘Udta Punjab’. At the time, he had been cited in a publication saying, “Although I picked up two debutant awards earlier, I was really looking forward to winning the black lady. But I guess every awards event has its own parameters. I’ll be honest, though. I think a debutant award is meant for someone working on his first film. It shouldn’t go to an actor who has worked in several films in another industry or language.”

Retracting his statement, Kapoor took to Twitter with the following message: “Love you to sir, have lots of respect for you and your body of work sorry if I said anything that came out wrong.” He tagged Dosanjh and father Anil Kapoor in the message.
