Happy Birthday Sonakshi Sinha!
Fresh from her release ��Rowdy Rathore�۪��this weekend��, Sonakshi Sinha is lucky to have a day off to celebrate her birthday this year. The ‘Dabangg’ (2010)��star burst onto our screens alongside Salman Khan and has never looked back when it comes to her film career.��Sinha plays the feisty and vivacious Priya in ��Rowdy Rathore�۪ alongside the equally masti-filled Akshay Kumar.When talking about her character, Sinha told Bollyspice, ���I liked the idea of being slightly more michevious. She is very sweet and simple and she falls in love with this guy who is completely the opposite of her.�
The actress is enthused by each of her releases and is excited to see where her future takes her. What is interesting to know about Sinha is that her debut film ��Dabangg�۪ came by chance and she thought she was instead destined to be a fashion designer. She continued to tell Bollyspice, ���I never intended on becoming an actor growing up. I was studying fashion design, I was doing very well and Dabangg just sort of happened.� Sinha even designed clothes for the film ��Mera Dil Leke Dekho�۪ (2006),which starred Jackie Shroff amongst others.
Sinha burst onto our screens with the role of Rajo in ��Dabangg�۪ which went onto being one of the highest grossing Bollywood films of all time. Granted that the film was centred on Khan, but Rajo�۪s character with her loyal and patient nature won the hearts of the audience and led the actress to win the highest accolade, the Filmfare award for Best Female Debut.
The actress has been off-screen since her debut release but this is because she is currently working on several different films. ��After ��Rowdy Rathore�۪, other films currently in production are ��Joker�۪ (expected in 2012), ��Lootera�۪ (slated for 2013 release), ��Son of Sardar�۪ (also expected��later this year)��and many others. It seems like Sinha is showing no signs of slowing down and her enthusiasm is infectious with her co-stars complimenting her on her work ethic and dedication to her roles.
Despite being the daughter of actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha, the actress is humble and dedicated to her art. Talking recently to PTI,��she said: ���I want to be talked about for the films I am doing than a party I attended, the��dress��I wore and the men I may have met and dated. In any case, by and large I think I have spoken about more for the profession I am in than my personal life. That’s the way I like it because frankly, I don’t really have a personal life to begin with.�
