When it comes to Bollywood films, nothing brings more life to the films than the dance numbers. Often fronted by the highly glamourous actors and actresses, they are remembered long after the films have been forgotten. Who sits behind these epic dance numbers are the brilliant choreographers and Shiamak is definitely one of them. From big name films like ��Dil To Pagal Hai�۪ (1997) to more unconventional ones like ��Taare Zameen Par�۪ (2007), he has choreographed some of the industry�۪s biggest numbers. As it is Shiamak�۪s birthday, BizAsia looks at his big dance numbers which have had us jumping in our seats desperate for more.
1)���������� The Dance of Envy (Instrumental)�� from ��Dil To Pagal Hai�۪ (1997)
The Dance of Envy is one that didn�۪t even have words but it is a dance number that made Bollywood history. Starring two of the biggest actresses and dance queens Madhuri Dixit Nene and Karisma Kapoor, this film showed off their moves and what made them brilliant on screen. They pitted themselves against each other in the film and with every flick of their feet, they lit up the screen and it was all thanks to Shiamak.
2)���������� Dance Pe Chance from ��Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi�۪ (2008)
Dance Pe Chance was a song which was intent to teach the audience how to dance and Shiamak was behind those brilliant moves. Picturised on Anushka Sharma and Shah Rukh Khan, the dance number was instantly catchy and had the audience dancing to the song on dance floors worldwide.
3)���������� Dhoom Again from ��Dhoom 2�۪ (2006)
If any actor is a dream to choreograph, it would be Hrithik Roshan. His flexibility on the dance floor means that he can sell any dance number and Dhoom Again was no different. Shiamak managed to bring this song to life with some beautifully choreographed moves and it was electric to watch on screen.
4)���������� Kahin Aag Lage from ��Taal�۪ (1999)
��Taal�۪ was a film all about the love of dance and it was incredible to watch on screen. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was fairly new to Bollywood cinema but she could dance a dream and Shiamak took advantage of that. He choreographed Ms Rai Bachchan and made her look elegant and sexy all at the same time.
5)���������� Nach Baliye from ��Bunty Aur Babli�۪ (2005)
Rani Mukerji is one of the best dancers in Bollywood and she can sell any dance number to the audience. Alongside Abhishek Bachchan, Shiamak choreographed Nach Baliye and had the audience dancing in their seats. It was a joy to watch and looked phenomenal.
