Hansal Mehta happy films like ‘Airlift’ are being appreciated

Airlift

Director Hansal Mehta is happy that last week’s releases ‘Airlift’ (2015) and ‘Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3’ (2015) don’t have any competition between them.He is very happy that a film like ‘Airlift’ is being chosen over ‘regressive’ content like ‘Kya Kool Hai Hum 3’.

Speaking at the ‘Best of Kashish’ Festival, Mehta was cited in Absolute India saying, “The good news is that audiences reject films that don’t work and Kya Kool Hai Hum 3 has been rejected by the audience and has failed. Everyone thought the film is going to work. It got an A certificate with 80 cuts or so. Everybody thought that this regressive nonsense is actually going to make money and that is the sad thing. It’s telling the world that our audiences are actually flocking to watch such regressive nonsense and at the same time, Airlift has done two or three times the business. I was quite happy to know that audiences reject films like that.”

Both films released on Friday. ‘Airlift’ stars Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur, while ‘Kya Kool Hain Hum 3’ stars Aftab Shivdasani and Tusshar Kapoor.
